Hello all - I’m Hamish and when it comes to fishing I guess if it will take a fly then I’ll have a crack at it. I’m not adverse to methods other than fly fishing. Although I do a fair bit of river Salmon fishing it would be fair to say that loch fishing is my first ‘love’ with specimen browns and Ferox something of an addiction. I have been very fortunate to have lived (and fished!) all over the UK. I am a very keen fly tier and will, one day, get my finger out and enter a FF&FT; competition I am also a self confessed tackle geek and collector

Hi Colin Price here aka baslowfisher, I also have a blog at http://www.baslowfisher.blogspot.com, I fish mainly on the Derbyshire Derwent on the Chatsworth beat so its trout and grayling although salmon have been seen on the Derwent so maybe in the future who knows. I also fish the Derbyshire Wye and also higher up the Derwent thanks to good friends. I enjoy reading articles from Malcolm Greenhalgh, Oliver Edwards, Paul procter, Louis Noble etc.
A great magazine with good informative articles keep it up!
Donal Hayes, Flytier01, myself : I’m disabled, I lost my right arm riding motorcycles almost 30 years ago, been angling in 1 form or another for over forty years, fly fishing for almost that long , if it swims fresh or salt water I’ll cast a fly to it, fly-tying about 8/9 years.
Most of my river fishing in on my local rivers Suir, Blackwater & the Nore with 3 local reservoirs for club angling, Lough fishing mostly on the western Loughs but any place with water will do, my passion is fishing for wild browns.

Ps any disabled/wheelchair bound anglers holidaying/touring southeast of Ireland looking for a days fishing, we have a Wheely-boat [wheelchair accessible boat] in our angling club.
Great idea Magnus. There seems to be a few new members that weren’t on the previous forum.
I’m Bob (obviously)
Located in Tipperary over in Ireland and I mainly fish for Trout. Rivers are my preferred water but a day or twelve on Loug Derg and some of the Western Loughs has been known to happen.
I started fishing when I was 11ish with the worm and still think it is one of the hardest methods to perfect. I’m tying almost as long.
Nowadays it almost all flyfishing.
Favourite time of the season would have to be July-August-September fishing the evening and night hatchs.
Go to flies are:(adapted versions of) PTN’s, Dark Olive, Klinkhanner and Sherry Spinners.
Hi Iam Ron Harvey an older member & Iam a disabled fly fisher & tier for over 20 yrs.
I fish the central belt of Scotland mainly boat fishing & I rely enjoy my flytying.
Hi,
I’m Ian, living in North Wales. Mainly interested in wild trout though I do a bit of unsuccessful saltwater fly fishing from time to time.
Been fly fishing for 4 years and spend a lot of time in the mountains. I was a climber for 20+ years so I’m quite at home up in the high cwms/valleys. I have been known to climb across rocks with my rod between my teeth to get a prime spot. By searching maps I’ve found some beautiful wild lakes where no one ever fishes, though the walks can be epic.
Going to explore the potential for Grayling this winter so I don’t have to hang up my rod outside of the trout season.
Currently fishing a 7# Greys GS2 but going to get a 5# for rivers/small waters. My girfriend has just started flyfishing after I converted her from coarse fishing.
Cheers

Hi,
I’m Peter, live in East Sussex and flyfish my local Powdermill Reservoir water.
I prefer to fish for Brown Trout in streams and rivers in Scotland, Wales, Eire and South Africa (Natal Drakensberg rivers) whenever I can get away to do so (which is not often)!
I tie nymphs, buzzers, dries and the occasional lure/fry imitation; send a lot of nymphs and dries for my son and grandsons to use/lose in Wicklow, Eire and tie a lot for myself as I leave a lot of flies in trees, snags and passing animals/wildlife etc!
Ran a flytying company in Lesotho in the mid 80’s and caught superb wild rainbows in the Malibamatso river up at Oxbow (±8000 ft) on Stonefly nymph imitations.
Caught my first Brownie when I was 12 years old (on a dig with the Kent Archeological Society) and have been ‘flyfish crazy’ ever since.
Long live the Forum!
Hi
I’m John, I live on the island of Portland in Dorset, where I go saltwater fly-fishing for bass from my kayak.
I also spend some time in Glen Isla in Angus, where I mainly fish in the Isla. It’s a smashing river with trout, grayling, salmon and even pike, what more could you ask.
I have been fishing for about fifty years now but still learning. Now hoping to get a game angling guides qualification so I can teach others all I know (if they have a spare ten minutes ).
Hello everyone, I’m Dave and I write a column (blog to you modern tech types) under the heading of Duffer’s Forthright. I think this is a cracking magazine and although I don’t usually chat on forums I thought this one might be worth it (God knows I could do with some good advice). so I look forward to talking with some of you.
My name is Aidan from Co Galway and I fish on Lough Corrib, Mask, Conn, Ree and Derg.
I am very lucky that no lake is more than 60mins drive.
I am also a flytyer for some 35 years and strange as it may seem I carry a small range of flies with me through the angling season.
Mayfly is fast approaching so:
