Mind Boggling and a Challenge!

Through recommendations from fellow flyfishers, replies posted to inquiries on this forum, books I own such as Bruce Sandison’s excellent “Rivers and Lochs of Scotland” and general internet searches, I have come to the conclusion that there are a mind boggling number of loch and river, Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon flies that I need to tie for our holiday in Assynt in June 2012.
So many in fact, that in order to tie the twenty or so Sea Trout, ten or so Salmon and at least thirty Brownie patterns, I will be too busy tying flies to go on holiday shut eye
- That’s roughly 60 patterns, in 3 sizes, and 3 of each for myself AND for my wife (I am allowed no unfair advantage, you can be sure of that!), totalling some 600 flies or so.
Apart from postponing our holiday for a year, words like ‘serious overdraft, ‘move to a bigger home’,  ‘marriage and addiction counselling’ come to mind.
SOOooo to cut what could be a long and tiresome posting short; I humbly challenge fellow flyfishers to a sort of fly version of “Desert Island Discs”; to think about limiting the selection to three flies ONLY for each of the three species and then post your recommendations.
I know it would be hard enough for me to limit myself to three fly boxes, let alone three flies to fish Powdermill, my local water!
Well chaps, there we are. Are you up for a challenge or as boggled as I am?

Hi Doodlebug,

Assynt?
Big hairy flies would be the “conventional Authority” which
one would only dare veer from, at their peril.

Or maybe not!

So, what is the final date, for….... the submissions?

Are there any,you know ....“Rules” ...that we should know about?
....or any…. you know .....tips or pointers?

A nod would be as good as a wink!

Tight lines

Hi Gavin,
No date, no rules, just your ‘Desert Island’ Flies wink
Mine are:
Nymph - GRHE (P.T. varient)
Dry - DDD
Wet/Lure - Green Marabou Montana Beaded

P.S No chance to try the clingfilm wings - home pc packed up (took all Saturday to fix), sunday spent doing household chores and repairs.
Will give wings a go asap though.
