Best rainbow of the season at Rutland Water
Adrian Cook, from Great Barton near Bury St Edmunds, caught a fantastic 6lb 10¾oz rainbow at Rutland Water last week – the biggest Rutland rainbow of the season.
Adrian was fishing along the reedbeds when the fish took a liking to his Minkie fished on an intermediate line.
The previous best rainbow of the season was recorded by Adrian’s regular boat partner John Harper in August – a 6lb 9oz fish.
Prospects look very good at the reservoir with big fish showing in various areas coming to fry, nymphs and dries.
