The search is on for a new 'Peter'. Toast Entertainment Group, in conjunction with the Daily Mirror, Angler’s Mail and Anglers’ Net, is launching a nationwide search to find four boys or girls, aged 8 to 14 who will join angling writer John Bailey, as he walks in the footsteps of Mr. Crabtree in a forthcoming TV series due to broadcast late 2012.

Mr. Crabtree goes fishing, written by the late Bernard Venables, remains the largest selling fishing book of all time. Captivating literally millions of young anglers, anyone who grew up on Mr. Crabtree will know Peter, the son of Mr. Crabtree in the books and the long running comic strip, both created by the Daily Mirror.

‘Peter’ can be a girl or a boy, should be very interested in fishing , and be expected to adhere to certain standards of behaviour.
