The controversial plan to build a £1.3 billion private luxury estate on the southern shore of Loch Rannoch has been refused.
Perth & Kinross councillors debated the application - by property developer Malcolm James - at a recent Pre-Determination Committee meeting. They refused the application on the grounds of "inappropriate scale" by 21 votes to three.
The controversial plan had attracted 1,125 objections. Anglers, scientists and conservationists feared Mr James' proposal would threaten the three distinct species of Arctic char in the loch.
