Entries are reported to be "going well" for Anglian Water’s ‘Helping the Heroes’ Pairs Fly Fishing Competition & Charity Auction which will be held at Rutland Water on Saturday, August 14.
Organisers are anticipating a healthy turn out of competing anglers, including several teams representing the Army and Air Force. The Charity Auction has guide price items totaling almost to £8,000 - including one item donated by Angus Estates for a week's salmon fishing in Scotland plus accommodation for two people worth over £2,500. The cash raised will help wounded British troops who have been injured in conflicts overseas. The charity was founded in 2007 and has since raised over £30 million.
The celebrities and International anglers confirmed to attend include David Seaman, the former England and Arsenal goalkeeper, John Wilson, Iain Barr, John Horsey, Gareth Jones, Simon Kidd, Martha Thomson, and FF&FT's, Charles Jardine.
