Tiemco has an enviable reputation for quality and looking at these hooks you can guess why. The specification runs as follows: short shank, straight eye, 2X heavy wire, lightly forged bend, exceptionally well closed eye, sharp conical point with a small accurately cut barb set well back from the point.

Tiemco list its 2488H as a heavier Nymph, Shrimp or Caddis Pupa hook. The shape and weight suit those jobs well. Add a straight eye, giving an unusually open gape for clean powerful hookhold and you have a well-designed and well-made hook. As with many Tiemco’s the range of sizes is large, Tiemco lists more and smaller sizes than any other hook-brand.
