Windproof, thin, warm … and as waterproof as fleece can get thanks to a breathable waterproof lining and a shower-proofing treatment on the fleece outer material. In addition, there are waterproof zips which conveniently double as windproof zips, draw strings at the hem and neck, and articulated sleeves with simple, comfortable cuffs.

It’s also a comfortable item of clothing, and not being olive green makes a pleasing change! I’d happily vote for black as the new olive this season.

The Breeze-bloc Fleece simply works – it’s very acceptable for everyday use and a very good piece of technical fishing kit. The pockets are all large enough so I can have boxes here and there – actually, large enough for several fly boxes, tools and several reels. Snowbee have designed this so the pockets are flush to the jacket surface. There’s nothing to stop me wearing this under a waistcoat, or waders or a heavy coat.

Overall, this comes dangerously close to my ideal all-around fleece jacket and has rapidly become my first-choice fishing jacket – there’s nothing I would change.
